The Indo-Canadian production, BREAKAWAY, was a key participant in the happy mayhem of the street carnival Caribana - the Caribbean cultural festival held over the weekend of July 30 - bringing to the people of Canada the pulsating Calypso rhythms and creating a 'joie de vivre' atmosphere.
And it was among this electrifying surrounding that BREAKAWAY made its presence felt with a distinctive float carrying posters of the movie making its way among the carnival-lovers. And did they love this float too! One saw carnival dancers prance and strut around the float and people stopped by to get a handful of the movie's images clicked.
One of the largest Caribbean festival's in North America, pulling in a crowd of more than 1.3 million every year, BREAKAWAY added the extra zing to the magic and thrill of Caribana.
