What's common between DABANGG and SINGHAM? Well, other than being action affairs, finding good appreciation from the audience and emerging as huge super-success at the box office, both these films haven't been quintessential city based films. So while DABANGG was set in the cow belt of UP-Bihar, SINGHAM had gone further deep into a small town of Maharashtra.
Teaser - GHAYAL RETURNS
Observing that audience taste has changed from getting lured by Swiss alps and are now keener to explore the by-lanes of interiors of the country, even Sunny Deol doesn't wish to be left behind and has now set his GHAYAL RETURNS outside the parameters of a big city.
'Sunny was the original action hero since the early 80s and while Ajay came almost a decade after him, Salman is making a transition from being a lover boy to a complete entertainer only now. Though his last film YAMLA PAGLA DEEWANA was a comedy with just a small dose of action while his next I LOVE NEW YEAR is a romcom, Sunny is sure that he wants to go desi and rustic with GHAYAL RETURNS. One major step taken in this direction is to bring mitti ki khushboo on screen for the film as he can see how well is audience receiving such themes today,' says a source attached to the film.
Confirms Ashwini Chaudhary, the man at the helm of affairs for GHAYAL RETURNS, 'Yes, this is meant to be a film which is more attached to the roots.'
He denies though that GHAYAL RETURNS setting has anything to do with SINGHAM and DABANGG. 'The idea has been with me for two years while I have worked on the script for more than a year. We were always clear what we wanted to make,' says Ashwini before signing off.
