Though PHHIR is being promoted as a film coming from the makers of 1920 and HAUNTED, the general perception is that it has Vikram Bhatt at the helm of affairs. However, the fact is that while both these films had Bhatt coming behind the camera as a director as well, PHHIR has him only in the creative capacity. So while producers of all three films are the same, Vikram is mainly behind the scenes in case of PHHIR with Girish Dhamija occupying the director's chair.
"The entire story and screenplay is by Vikram Bhatt though,' informs Rajneesh Duggal, film's leading man who was also seen in 1920, "It was him who came up with this idea of making this subject for screen. He also co-wrote the dialogues with Girish. Also, his dad Mr. Praveen Bhatt is the cinematographer here for whom this is his 101st film. The entire experience really helped the film since there is a lot of value-add that some top notch technicians brought to the film."
One wonders though whether Vikram was involved much more than just in the capacity of a writer and creative consultant when he roped in Girish to call the shots. After all Girish has just one film to his credit earlier, the Arjun Rampal-Priyanka Chopra starrer YAKEEN.
"See, Vikram came on the sets for only first three days and after that left it on Girish to entirely call the shots. It was a good thing overall because Vikram had good trust in Girish's abilities and knew that jo sab ho raha tha, achcha hi ho raha tha. For Girish too it was a great platform to make a film since he got the right freedom that he could have wanted, 'Rajneesh says in a calm tone.
