People behind GOLMAAL franchise are in no hurry to launch their fourth installment soon. Even though every new part of GOLMAAL has done better than the one preceding it, director Rohit Shetty and his team of actors feel that it is better to space GOLMAAL 4 from GOLMAAL 3 instead of making it a routine affair that may result in audience fatigue.
"Yes, we have put plans on hold for GOLMAAL 4," confirms Rohit who has a stranglehold over the franchise, "Leave aside this year, I won't be bringing this film on floors even next year. May be in 2013 we will start shooting for it but even that's not too sure. Let's see how things go from there. I would want to make other films in the interim."
One can well expect that there won't be a shortage of subjects for GOLMAAL 4 though. After all it is a franchise instead of true sequel which means any new story which is good to fit into GOLMAAL format could well be ready for translation on the big screen.
"Agar aisa hota toh I could have put two more heroes other than Ajay Devgn and Abhishek Bachchan in BOL BACHCHAN and sold it as GOLMAAL 4," chuckles Rohit, 'But I didn't do that, right? Good stories are available, yes, but then they should justify the brand that you are selling. I don't want to cheat audience by giving them something in the garb of GOLMAAL when I am myself not convinced. It doesn't work that way."
