The music of BODYGUARD, one of the most awaited films of the year, has been creating waves with its songs like Desi Beat. The song's catchy Taun taun taun is already rocking the streets and Discos in various cities.
Desi Beat is a trademark Salman Khan song directed by Sumit Dutt, the director of Salman's previous super hits Dhinka Chika and Character Dheela. The song featuring Kareena Kapoor and Salman Khan has been shot on a huge scale.
The set mixes extreme elements of fire and water creating a dazzling effect. It was a really difficult task to shoot this, says director Sumit Dutt. He adds, "There were dancers behind the fire curtain and we needed to ensure their safety. Besides these we had so many dancers dancing all day with their feet in water, getting completely soaked. It was a task for Salman and Kareena to perform as well because the floor was so slippery from the water all around."
But they did perform and we see an extremely energetic and powerful performance by Salman while Kareena is exuding oomph with every step.
Another set was created completely from glass and given a tunnel shape, adding lasers to give that jazzed up bling look. A laser creating a glow under everybody's feet as the dance gives a magical feel and will be the highlight of the sequence on the silver screen.
Another good reason that further consolidates the fact that this song would entice a lot of claps and whistles when it plays on silver screen is the Ishq ka Akhada sequence. Salman dancing with the pehlwans dressed in langots is quite entertaining watch.
Overall the song is a visual treat and Sumit Dutt has once again managed to create a chartbuster with his visual and technical excellence. This song has everything, right from nagadas to akhadas to the most stylized sets. Sumit Dutt has mastered the technique to extract great performances from top stars like Salman, Kareena, Asin and present them in sleek and grand visuals with huge mass appeal, a sure shot to a hit song.
