Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) is one of the top five film festivals of the world and has been consistently throwing up Oscar winners in the past. 2011 edition of the festival will be held between 8th - 18 September, 2011. It has three Indian films as part of its official selection. Here is a brief introduction to these films.
MAUSAM, Hindi, India, 2011 The film is being showcased at TIFF as a Special Presentation. In his long-awaited directorial debut, veteran actor Pankaj Kapur indulges in a passionate love story combining high Bollywood flair with his own exuberant style. Starring Kapur's son, Shahid Kapur, and Sonam A. Kapoor, MAUSAM is an event: a sweeping romance with an irresistible score and unforgettable climax. The film is a force of nature, and a passionate love story that unfolds to the rhythms of the four seasons. The 160-minutes film is produced by Cinergy Pictures/Eros International Media Ltd./ Vistaar Religare Film Fund. The principal cast includes Shahid Kapur, Sonam A Kapoor, and Anupam Kher. It is photographed by Binod Pradhan and its music is composed by Preetam. Eros is distributing the film in overseas as well as in India.
