ThoughRA.ONE was widely promoted as the biggest and the costliest film ever, it couldn't enjoy a superhit or blockbuster status for itself due to high costs involved in the making. Now DON 2 appears to be an expensive film as well though the makers haven't gone ahead and bragged about the costs involved. Also, they are firmly standing by the man of the moment - Shahrukh Khan.
''I don't think Shahrukh ever went and declared that he had put a price on the film. He never said that he was expecting 250 crore in return. When it came to RA.ONE, cost had nothing to do with what Shahrukh wanted from the film. Also, all said and done, RA.ONE is still one of the top 6-7 films of all times when it comes to box office collections. If a film does over 100 crore just in India, just do the calculations yourself around how many people would have gone and seen his film. Why are we not talking about that,'' questions Ritesh Sidhwani, the film's co-producer. CHECK OUT: DON 2 to erase negativity around SRK?
Though he may be sounding pretty much matter-of-fact, it is quite apparent that film's promotion is now in full swing.
''Of course yes, we do have a plan and we are executing it as was originally envisaged,' says Ritesh, 'We have just launched the film's music while different promos are also being launched on a regular basis. Yes, we can get audience in the first show but the most challenging thing is to keep the momentum on from second show onwards. There are no second chances and whether it is DON 2 or any other film, this fact doesn't change. As I said, we have a huge fan base for DON and we have to give them something new to bite every now and then. We are confident that there is enough on our platter.''
Well Ritesh, we too would like to explore that once DON 2 releases all over on 23rd December.
