Balaji's THE DIRTY PICTURE has been a subject of plenty controversy, the recent one being a case filed against them for the obscene portrayal of Silk Smitha in the film that chronicles the journey of an erstwhile siren.
Prior to its release, south Indian dancer Silk Smitha's brother, Vadlapatla Naga Vara Prasada Rao, had filed a writ petition against the CBFC (Central Board of Film Certification), with Balaji Motion Pictures, as one of the respondents, claiming that his sister's image is tarred in the movie with demand that certain scenes be removed before its theatrical release.
Confirms Chief Financial Officer of Balaji Motion Pictures, Srinivasa Shenoy, ''Yes, Silk Simtha's brother's writ petition has been dismissed. CBFC is an expert body. I can't understand how he was questioning it. The petition held no weight.''
Says Balaji Motion Pictures' CEO, Tanuj Garg, ''We are glad with the outcome of the proceedings.''
