Yash Raj Film's Maneesh Sharma directed LADIES V/S RICKY BAHLwas never expected to embark on an earth shattering start, though a good to decent opening was very much on the cards. But the start is lower than the predictions.
Coming to the percentage crunching, the Ranveer, Anushka and Dipannita starrer, LADIES VS RICKY BAHL, has obviously done better at the multiplexes as compared to the single screens. The film has opened in the range of 50-70 percent at the multiplexes of North India but is quite lower at about 30- 40 percent in the Mumbai circuit with Ahmedabad faring much better. Given the 25 crore (all inclusive cost), the film is expected to be a plus fare for its makers and worldwide distributors, Yash Raj Films, after accounting for the non-theatrical revenues. The other release of the week, Maqbool Khan's LANKA failed to make an impression, except for a handful of cinemas of Uttar Pradesh.
Meanwhile Balaji Motion Pictures and ALT Entertainment's THE DIRTY PICTURE is a clean hit. The film has netted nearly 52.50 crore (including dubbed Tamil and Telugu versions). Given the satisfactory second Friday (9th December) it will not be a surprise if the Milan Luthria directed film manages a superhit to blockbuster status.
