If at all the cast members of PLAYERS were thinking of throwing any tantrums during its making then this was not just the right film for that. Even though Abbas-Mustan have mounted the film on a lavish scale, there were times when even money couldn't buy some of the basic facilities that the team would have wanted. This was experienced during the North Pole shooting of the mega heist thriller when the cast and crew didn't just have to adjust with the sub-zero climatic conditions but also forget everything about the luxuries that they were otherwise so used to enjoying at other exotic locations.
Though Abbas-Mustan have worked with Bobby Deol extensively in the past and are also responsible for giving break to Bipasha Basu, they were sure that none of the two main leads would complain due to the comfort level they share. However with Abhishek Bachchan, Sonam Kapoor and Neil Nitin Mukesh as the new entrants, they were apprehensive whether they would create end up creating a fuss.
''After all North Pole wasn't the most comfortable place to be in,' adds Abbas Burmawalla, 'Since this is a virgin location, a few cast members even brought with them their own pillows and bed-sheets as they felt that some basic amenities would be either missing or not up to the mark. Being accustomed to Five Star Swiss hotels, a place like North Pole isn't quite everyone's idea.'' CHECK OUT: The PLAYERS kick up a storm
For Abbas-Mustan though there wasn't a better choice of location since there was natural light available for full 24 hours (due to summer time at the North Pole) while rivers were frozen and temperature reasonably comfortable at minus 10 degrees celsius.
''Thankfully none of our actors complained,' says Abbas, 'For them it turned out to once in a life time experience as they saw something different from their Five Star experiences.''
Well, we would like to hear that from the 'players' as well.
