''I am going to re-enter Bollywood with 'Hawa Hawa' because of Hriday Shetty. It was a pleasure working with him and I am thoroughly impressed by his work. He has a very creative mind and that is his strength. I love the whole concept of the movie and that's why I agreed to give the rights of my song to him and I loved singing it again for CHAALIS CHAURAASI,'' says Hassan. While planning the music of the movie, Hriday wanted a song from the past that could feature all the four actors - Naseeruddin Shah, Atul Kulkarni, Kay Kay Menon and Ravi Kishan. Instead of going for his favourite and very obvious choice of RD Burman, he settled for Hassan's 'Hawa Hawa'. 'I Googled him and the first few hits said that the singer died at a very early age. I was shocked! I called my friends in Pakistan and Dubai to inquire about the same when one of my friends connected me to Hassan saab,' shares Hriday.
Hriday shared the story of the movie with Hassan and explained to him that the song would be used featuring all the actors and would be a remix. 'He was thrilled and quickly agreed to give the rights of the song. In fact, the added bonus for me was that he agreed to sing it again for the movie,' says Hriday.
'I can never forget what a rage this song was when it had released worldwide. I was 20 years old when this song had released and it is a privilege to be featured in this song that he has sung. It is very nostalgic and I know for sure that everyone will love this song,' says Atul. When Hassan had released this song, 'Hawa Hawa' in the 80's, it was a sleeper hit and had sold 15 million copies.
