A horde of filmmakers entered Bollywood to try their luck in the year 2011. More than actors it was a year of debutante directors. While some clicked others failed to make a mark.
Let's take a look at these fresh minds, who put in their best efforts to win over us.
ALANKRITA SHRIVASTAVA, KIRAN RAO and ABHINAY DEO
Alankrita Shrivastva with TURNING 30: Filmmaker Prakash Jha's long time assistant director, Alankrita Shrivastva took her big step of getting into direction with a girlie flick TURNING 30. The film was appreciated for its content however at Box-office it was a no show.
Kiran Rao with DHOBI GHAT: Aamir Khan's wife Kiran Rao also took the baton of direction in hand with DHOBI GHAT. While critics and fans went gaga over Kiran's work, it failed to entice Box-office because of its offbeat treatment.
Abhinay Deo with GAME, DELHI BELLY:Coming from advertising background, Abhinay Deo got lucky not once but twice. He had two back-to-back films GAME and DELHI BELLY, which released this year. While GAME with Farhan Akhtar's production tanked, DELHI BELLY, made under Aamir Khan's production, was a big hit.
