Vishal Bhardwaj's much anticipated film 7 KHOON MAAF has been passed with 'A' certificate by Censor Board. However, that has not perturbed the maverick filmmaker, who is not challenging the decision. On the contrary he is happy that his film has been passed without any deletion or cut despite an 'A' rating.
Further he also says that he doesn't care about the certifications while making a film and that it only shortens a filmmaker's vision
'I have made films either for kids or for adults. I have never come in the category of U/A and I don't even care about that when I make films. I just want to express my vision with complete honesty. I don't care what kind of certification I am going to get at the end. I don't want to bind or shorten my vision. I think jo us character ki ya us situation ki ya us kahani ki jaruart hai woh puri honi chhaiye. Baaki apni audience film dhoond leti hai,' says Vishal in a matter of fact tone.
In support of her director, Priyanka too adds in, 'We were always sure the kind of story 7 KHOON MAAF has it could probably be an 'A' certificate movie. But that has never stopped the film from being a successful film.'
If this was not enough Priyanka elucidates the issue further by sighting an example of her popular film FASHION. 'I can sight an example of my own film FASHION. When it was releasing everyone bombard me with same questions that 'do you think it will stop people from watching the film and blah blah'. But my point is if you are telling a great story and people are interested in watching the film it really doesn't matter what certification the film gets. Ultimately audience will see what they want to see,' says Priyanka before signing off.
