Rani Mukherjee has made a huge comeback with NO ONE KILLED JESSICA and is now doing her next with Aamir, hence taking her back to the GHULAM days when she had just started off her career. However her closest competitor around a decade back, Preity Zinta, is still waiting to bag her next big project which marks her comeback. A no-release for two years now (her last film was VIDESH - HEAVEN ON EARTH which again wasn't a Bollywood flick) only makes one speculate further if there are any comeback plans for the actress here.
'One doesn't seem to remember her last commercial Hindi film where she was the central protagonist,' says an avid movie buff, 'She played a minor role in HEROES but before that her major films were JHOOM BARABAR JHOOM and JAAN-E-MANN which seems like an eternity. Really, others in her age group have had better luck. Shilpa Shetty, who just like her also owns an IPL team, has settled down in life and pretty much sworn off movies. Preity, who hasn't declared any formal retirement plans, hasn't signed anything new either in Bollywood.'
That's indeed true, what with post her break up with Ness Wadia, one hasn't heard anything about the new man in her life with the only silver lining in her professional life is the re-instation of her IPL team. However movies seem to be a total thanda zone for her with no films even with her earlier major co-stars like Shahrukh Khan or Salman Khan.
'Shah Rukh has moved on to the likes of Kareena (RA. 1) and Priyanka (DON 2) while Salman is busy giving launches to girls half his age,' comments a trade follower, 'On the other hand Preity was almost giving a re-launch of sorts to the likes of Shiney Ahuja before her film HAR PALL with him got stuck for eternity.'
All one looks forward to now is something good rolling for Preity pronto. After all it is painful to see the once bubbly girl only on small screen during IPL rather than the big screen which is her much deserving space.
