NAWAB SHAH AND SHAHRUKH KHAN
This Bad Man is pitted against the Bollywood Badshah in Farhan Akhtar's most awaited film DON 2 - THE CHASE CONTINUES and against Salman Khan in BODYGUARD. Meet actor Nawab Shah (JAANEMAN and LAKEER fame) who is essaying the main villain. Shahrukh Khan and Salman Khan may not like one another but they have taken a personal liking for Nawab Shah. And so does Farhan Akhtar because Nawab Shah has portrayed key villainous roles in two of his directed films - LAKSHYA and DON 2.
When close friends of SRK visited him on the sets, Nawab was introduced by the superstar with a "Meet the real Pathan!" The Pathan tag sits very nicely on Nawab Shah ever since he portrayed the mean man in ESCAPE FROM TALIBAN, where he was the lead opposite Manisha Koirala.
And this Pathan is also pitted against Shah Rukh Khan's bête noire Salman Khan in BODYGUARD (where he plays the dark mean shadow, who wants to kill Kareena Kapoor) after working with him in Sajid Nadiadwala's JAANEMAN also starring Akshay Kumar.
In JAANEMAN, Nawab Shah played Preity Zintas brother who's very protective and possessive about his sister and this causes a rift between Preity and Salman. In addition, he has worked with Hrithik Roshan, Sunny Deol and a host of action heroes in more than 18 films including south Indian ones such as Malayalam, Telugu and Tamil.
With an imposing personality and rugged toughness, Nawab Shah emerged as a natural choice for Farhan Akhtar's LAKSHYA where he played the brutal Pakistani army man pitted against Hrithik Roshan. His favorite movie experience remains on the sets of the Hrithik Roshan starrer LAKSHYA.
Nawab Shah says, "In Indian films, the villain is as important as the hero! I love to play a role where you love to hate me. I am pleased to play the bad man pitted against the superstars of today Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan, in their forthcoming big ticket films. I believe that every dark character remains etched in public memory for a long, long time because of the current scenario of scams and negativity that is prevailing in India today."
