Vishal Bhardwaj, who started his career with non-stars, is increasingly working with the stars these days. Now, in every film that carries the signature of Vishal Bhardwaj you can expect to see a crowd of bollywood stars. So, has the filmmaker finally accepted that making high impact films without star faces is not possible?
Vishal Bhardwaj, who is donning the spotlight for his soon-to-be released film 7 KHOON MAAF, does not deny the fact that working with stars gives one an extra edge.
Talking about his changed perception of working with stars, Vishal says, "I've never been averse to stars. Let me be honest. The first few films I did with non-stars was because the stars said no. These days the gap between stars and actors is decreasing. There is nothing that a Kay Kay Menon can do that an Aamir Khan can't do. Similarly, there is nothing that Ranbir Kapoor can't do that Chandan Roy Sanyal can do. The new breed of actors is very talented and willing to perform. Aamir has brought that into the industry. As a filmmaker, when I make a film, I know that my audience will come and watch it but if I work with a star, I get his audience also."
Though, Vishal might have changed his stand of working with non-stars only, but we don't mind the shift in his stand as long as we are getting entertained by his masterpieces.
