Veteran actor Naseeruddin Shah might be choosy about his films. But despite doing few and far between films, the actor has a long wish list which he wants to fulfill in the coming time.
Naseer has no qualms about doing films with anyone till the script appeals him. The so called master's of cinema are not his only preferred choice. In his words, "I've had bad experiences with the so-called 'masters' of cinema. I did A WEDNESDAY and FIRAAQ unaware about the directors' capabilities. The younger kids do have a greater hunger." In the past Naseeruddin Shah has worked with newcomers and the films have been tremendously praised.
Now, the veteran actor has a new wish list. The wish list includes names of a few filmmakers with whom Naseeruddin Shah would like to team up. But, he's not pushing things around. The role has to appeal to him and the script has to make sense to him before he can actually sign on the dotted line.
Naseeruddin Shah's wish list includes names like Raju Hirani and Anurag Kashyap. However he has not listed Sanjay Leela Bhansali in his wish list as he feels his cinema is too opulent and something which does not suit him. Talking about Sanjay Leela's cinema, the veteran actor adds, "I don't fit into his kind of operatic dramas. I love his song sequences but my time for singing songs is long past."
Now, that Naseeruddin Shah has made his wish list public, let's hope the wishes are answered soon.
