Last year Bhushan Kumar didn't blink an eyelid when he had to release KAJRAARE straight on DVD after a formality of putting in a couple of theaters for a few days. Now when 2011 has kick started, he is all set to give PATIALA HOUSE (a film that he co-produces) some heavy duty promotion and a huge release. Meanwhile there are dozens of music albums waiting to hit the stands.
"I have made myself very clear from the beginning that I don't get emotionally attached to anything. The same holds good when it comes to music as well. If an album or a song that I have made doesn't work, I feel bad for a day but that's about it. I soon get down to another one", says Bhushan whose company T-Series would also be releasing READY this summer.
Being in the industry for close to couple of decades, Bhushan has seen things closely. How much does he as a professional allow his personal relationships to drive his business decisions?
"What I am sure is that I don't have to ask anyone to analyse me; that's the truth", says Bhushan in a confident tone, "I have that judgement power in me that enables me to be successful. I am very professional when it is about work. I don't get connected to anything where I could be emotionally driven. You will never see me crying for 10 days over something which is dried and dusted. I just move on."
He adds on a parting note, "In this industry, people get all worked when a film of their fails. It is understandable as well since they invest everything on that one film. However, I am running a music company. I have thousands of songs to look at in any given year. I can't afford to ponder over anything for long."
