Ram Gopal Varma again becomes the 1st person to experiment with a different camera to shoot his films, unlike others who are still using the film camera.
KSD APPALRAJU (KATHA SCREENPLAY DIRECTION APPALRAJU), a film based on Film Industry (comic) by RGV is the first Indian film to be shot on Arri Alexa (Digital Camera) and RGV has vowed never to shoot on Film camera again.

In the past RGV has shot RAKTA CHARITRA 1 and 2 on RED camera. In future he plans to shoot DEPARTMENT as well on a new digital camera.
He said, "ALEXA produces images that have the organic look and feel of film, delivering incredible production value at an affordable cost. Focus and depth of field can be manipulated to create rich and spellbinding images that audiences associate with cinematic storytelling. With this camera shooting at night is possible with fewer lights or in available light and day can be shown as night & vice-versa."
Well no wonder they call him the maverick film-maker.
