With the New Year replacing our old calendars it has also brought that time of the year where awards and rewards are anticipated. With the season's first ever award night at the Star Screen Awards, our stars from B-town glittered with full enthusiasm and excitement. This night was special for music composers Sajid Wajid who received their first success award as popular music composers for the years blockbuster film DABANGG.
With their debut in 1998 with Sohail Khan's PYAAR KIYA TOH DARNA KYA, Sajid Wajid waited for 12 long years to receive their first ever popular award at the Star Screen Awards. Belonging to Kirana Gharana with their parents into music both Sajid Ali and Wajid Ali have taken music as breathe of life. It has not been easy for them to come into limelight but their patience paid off with hardwork and sheer determination.
The Award night was attended by Wajid Ali as Sajid Ali was unwell and could not come to receive the award. With pride and happiness Wajid became nostalgic about his experience on recording the songs for DABANGG.
"Dabangg was a thrilling experience. It was fantastic working with Arbaaz bhai, infact our first ever song 'Teri Jawani Mast Mast' from PYAAR KIYA TOH DARNA KYA was also picturised on him. We kept the original tune of UP in mind while working on DABANGG. The entire album was locked in about 15-20 days from narration while its title track was composed in just 15 minutes. Salman Bhai's favourite song 'Tere Mast Mast' has proved to be the National Anthem of the year and an award for the same will also be treasured especially because it's our first ever in 12 years," Wajid said.
