Director Sunil Darshan who has been credited with the resurrection of Khiladi Akshay Kumar after a spate of flops has remained out of the limelight for over three years since his last film SHAKA LAKA BOOM BOOM crashed at the ticket window.
It's ironical that the director who gave Akshay a new lease of life through JAANWAR (followed by EK RISHTA -THE BOND OF LOVE) and in turn provided him the impetus to reach the top five, has faded away from the memory of the audience.
However there is good news for those who still love his melodramatic and earthy films and are awaiting his return in a big way. Yes, Sunil Darshan considers this three year interruption as an interval and is hopeful of making a grand comeback in the second half of his innings as a filmmaker. The never-say-die director in an interview spoke about what he did during the three years. He said that he is refreshed and rearing to go after a much needed break during which analyzed the changes that are occurring in the world of cinema and updated himself with the new technologies and strategies that are now applied to make a good product. Sunil expressed the difference between the present cinema and past in a very interesting manner and compared it to times when children used to go to school carrying slates while today the children use laptops meaning just the technology has changed, rest remains the same!
Wise musings and here's looking forward to Sunil's next, which as per media reports is a project that will launch his handsome and talented son Shiv Darshan.
