If Nikhil Advani is to be believed, it is the strength of the story which is being told that lays the foundation for PATIALA HOUSE. Though in the year gone by, number of films have depended upon song, dance, look and action routine to pull in the audience, PATIALA HOUSE promises to entertain audience by means of an engaging storyline and solid performances.
"With PATIALA HOUSE, I am exploring an all new world. People so say about their films that they are different", quips Nikhil, "About PATIALA HOUSE, I would at the least say that it is different from what I have done in the past."
Nikhil makes this statement with a solid reasoning though. PATIALA HOUSE is centered on a father-son conflict (enacted by Rishi Kapoor and Akshay Kumar) with an undercurrent of the game of cricket. Though there are quite a few emotional moments that Nikhil promises with the film, there is also enough scope for music and of course the game of cricket which is shown as being played in the international arena.
"PATIALA HOUSE is the kind of film which promises something for everyone. However most importantly it is the storyline which is the USP here that would end up building connect between the audience and the characters", Nikhil says, "Akshay would be seen in the kind of role that he hasn't done for long. Also Rishi Kapoor is often seen in lighter roles. Here with PATIALA HOUSE, he gets into a much stricter avtar. Get ready for that famed Kapoor 'gussa' here."
A co-production of Bhushan Kumar, Mukesh Talreja, Kishan Kumar, Twinkle Khanna and Zoeb Springwala, PATIALA HOUSE has music by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy and releases all over on 11th February.
