Nikhil Advani is a content man. His PATIALA HOUSE is gearing up for release and he is happy that each of the four prime protagonists in the film - Akshay Kumar, Anushka Sharma, Rishi Kapoor and Dimple Kapadia - have enjoyed a good outing with their last release.
"Any film works on its own strengths. But when you have actors who come with some immediate level of success behind them, it is akin to a good 'shagun'. It adds as a definite bonus and brings in positive energy to your film. I couldn't have asked more for PATIALA HOUSE; it is starting off on a very positive note," says Nikhil Advani.
He could well be right here. Akshay Kumar's TEES MAAR KHAN opened to a record weekend and though it didn't quite go the whole distance, a huge start meant that it managed an above average status for itself. Anushka Sharma is more than just a pretty face, as evidenced in BAND BAAJA BAARAAT which is still going strong and pretty much finding a cult status for itself a la JAB WE MET.
Rishi Kapoor too is enjoying one of the better phases in this side of his career with DO DOONI CHAAR, his last release, finding good audience for itself on home video after making a decent impression in theaters. As for Dimple Kapadia, though she had a miniscule role in her last release DABANGG, the matter of the fact is that it was the biggest money spinner of 2010.
"This is what I was referring to i.e. the 'shagun' factor. Things have fallen well in place for PATIALA HOUSE. Of course one can't plan such things; they just happen on their own," concludes Nikhil with a smile.
