It is a deja vu of sorts for Imran Khan. Three years back when JAANE TU YA JAANE NA was released, it was the case of a film which was seeing a delayed arrival. Imran had waited for long before his debut vehicle actually saw the light of the day. Now the story has repeated itself for DELHI BELLY which was actually the film that he had shot for immediately after the release of JAANE TU. The film for which shooting had been completed two and a half years back and had ever since then waited for Aamir's approval, it has now opened quite huge, hence lending a feel of 'seen that done before' for Imran.
Though Imran is visibly happy about the momentum that his film has picked up, one wonders whether he was frustrated till a few months back due to the delay. "Not at all," promptly responds Imran, "Even JAANE TU YA JAANE NAA released a year and half after its shooting. So while that film was in post production, I finished two films KIDNAP and LUCK. Similarly now while waiting for DELHI BELLY, I have already seen I HATE LUV STORYS and BREAK KE BAAD being made and completed."
One would believe though that this is not the kind of situation that Imran would want to repeat. "See, I am used to such situations now," says Imran in a calm tone, "I accept things the way they are. If you have to get quality output, there is no harm in waiting for it to reach perfection."
Now that's pretty much like Aamir Khan scion talking. With Vir Das, Kunaal Roy Kapur, Shenaz Treasury, Poorna Jagannathan and Vijay Raaz in the cast, DELHI BELLY has already taken one of the best openings of the year and is now en route to being a good success.
