This Friday's two new releases are the Emraan Hashmi starrer MURDER 2 and the children's film CHILLAR PARTY. Though there are names like Salman and Ranbir associated with CHILLAR PARTY, as things stand today it will be MURDER 2 that will get the better start. However, due to the low hype and not so popular music (as compared to recent Bhatt ventures) MURDER 2 is likely to lose out to the still strong DELHI BELLY, especially at the multiplexes.
MURDER 2 and CHLLAR PARTY
Once again the new releases of last Friday went the expected way. Due to the popularity of D.K. Bose and Aamir's innovative publicity DELHI BELLY was patronized by the city multiplexes and the weekend saw the 32 crore (inclusive of print and publicity) film netting a good 21.50 crore. The other release Puri Jagannadh's BBUDDAH...HOGA TERRA BAAP saw a dull start but a positive growth saw the 20-21 crore (inclusive of print and publicity) film netting a below par 6.50 crore during the initial weekend. In the Overseas too it was once again DELHI BELLY which won the race grossing £154,000 from UK and $582,000 from US, as opposed to £43,000 from UK and $161,000 from US, for BBUDDAH... HOGA TERRA BAAP, during the opening weekend (1-3 July).
