Anubhav Sinha is currently in the last leg of filming RA.ONE, with its 10 days long schedule and is aiming for a wrap soon. While everyone is expecting a cool-n-stylish film from him all over again, Anubhav is of firm opinion that he doesn't wish to get carried away by style and technique. This clarity also comes from numerous conversations that he had with Shahrukh before he started filming RA.ONE.
"There is a reason behind that. When DUS had released, it was one of the most technically advanced film to have hit the Indian screens. Everyone started calling me as a stylish director whose strength lied in capturing cutting edge frames," he confesses, 'People like Sanjay Dutt and Abhishek Bachchan were forever appreciating me for the work I had done in DUS. Every other person who came to me wanted me to make a cool looking film. So here I was this small town boy who was seeing so much adulation coming his way. Main bhi kya karta. Sab itni taareef kar rahe the, that I also got carried away.'
This is when he started looking at RA.ONE differently and a series of conversations with Shahrukh Khan sorted out the manner in which he wanted to take the film further. So while the film is based on the classic good versus evil plot, there are also a few different dimensions that have been added to the superhero world.
"Yes of course, it is eventually about good winning over evil but then it is not all that straight forward either," says Anubhav, "All I can tell you now is that the film justifies the basic plot around 'What if something that was meant to be played starts playing with your life?'. As you venture into the film, you would realize how this single line plot expands itself.'
