Last Friday saw the release of Rohit Shetty's Ajay Devgan starrer SINGHAM. The film had a super start at single screens and was somewhat lower at the multiplexes. But as we had predicted the film picked up more and more as the weekend progressed, improving even at the multiplexes, thanks to the hype and positive feedback. SINGHAM saw the second best weekend (post READY) of 2011, netting in excess of 30 crores! The film is a sure shot hit, given the rock steady weekdays. However, SINGHAM has been rejected in the Overseas grossing £ 55,000 from UK and $161,000 from US during the opening week (22-24 July).
