Debutant Kartik is going through mixed emotions. On one end he is ecstatic that his debut film PYAAR KA PUNCHNAMA has been declared a success and his performance in the film, especially his five minute long monologue, has come in for widespread appreciation and acceptance. On the other hand he now believes that chances are quite less that he would have a real life girlfriend for a long time.

"Ab toh bass bhool hi jaayo. Leave aside girlfriends, even my friends who are girls have started ditching me. I am already getting calls from these friends who are saying that they have a score to settle with me. I am in a precarious situation. On one end I want them all to see this film for me while on the other I am just hoping they don't hear what I have to say against women. I am walking a twin edged sword," laughs Kartik.

One does wonder how is his real life girlfriend reacting to him featuring in a film which comes quite close to being anti-women? After all in a single five minute stroke, he has successfully managed to demonstrate his angst against women.

"Arrey, why are you pulling my leg? I don't have a girlfriend," laughs Kartik, "Trust me, there isn't any. Also, it doesn't look like I will have one for a long time now."

Meanwhile, even as this Luv Ranjan directed film continues to do well in its third week (Despite opposition from READY) with youngsters hopping into theaters due to positive word of mouth, Kartik exclaims that he could always see this coming.

"I have seen number of boyfriends like these in my college days who were taken for a royal ride by the girls. So I knew that we were not making something out of thin air. Such things happen in real life and we were showing it all in a comic vein," says Kartik, a student of Biotechnology who left his studies mid-way to step into films, "I have seen such relationships disintegrate."
