Minissha Lamba is truly aware of the fact that while BHEJA FRY came announced and that too sans any expectations, only to see a rise in fortunes as word of mouth spread, it isn't as easy for the sequel since the stakes are much higher this time around, what with the franchise pretty much established.
"Yes, I know that the film is keenly anticipated and expectations are quite high as well," she nods her head in agreement, "It has been a great challenge for Sagar to make the sequel better so that it can meet people expectations. He is a tremendous director. I have been blessed to work with him in two back to back films. After BHEJA FRY 2, our film HUM TUM AUR SHABANA would also be releasing soon."
When released in 2007, BHEJA FRY went on to do very good business at the box office despite its shoe string budget of a mere 50 odd lakhs. Now for the sequel, the film's production cost has run into crores.
"Well, I am not someone who can really be commenting on the budget part but what I know for sure is that the film is far more colourful and entertaining than before," says Minissha, "Also, while the first part was mainly set indoors and that too in one house, there are lot of outdoor locations in the sequel. A major portion of the film is also shot on a ship to give it grandeur though we haven't gone abroad. Let me tell you, he has actually cracked it in a big way here."
Also starring Amole Gupte, Kay Kay Menon, Suresh Menon and Aditi Govitrikar in principal roles, BHEJA FRY 2 is a Mukul Deora production and releases all over on 17th June 2011.
