Bollywood actor Aftab Shivdasani, who sort of took a sabbatical from films, is back in action. Aftab, who was last seen in ALOO CHAT and AAO WISH KAREIN in 2009, returns with upcoming film BIN BULAYE BARAATI

Ask him about his break from films and he says, "I actually decided to just stay low for a bit. I needed to go away and just take some time off for myself after 11 years of working. And I did it just to understand myself a little better."

Instead of picking a solo project or a drama genre, Aftab rather chose an ensemble cast film and wholesome entertainer for his comeback. "I found the story very entertaining and funny. I found the opportunity to work with so many actors in one film for the first time. It's a very safe film and genre to be part of with so many amazing actors. If it's made and marketed well than very few films don't really work once these circumstances are met," reasons Aftab.

BIN BULAYE BARAATI may be loaded with enough talented actors but Aftab is perfectly fine with this fact and feels that the film is a collective effort. Says the modest actor, "Though it's not a hero heroine kind of film, I am the technical hero of the film. Everybody is equally important. There is not one character that's more important than the other. Without the characters I am nothing. Everybody's support is required in the film. It is a united effort of all these characters that really makes BIN BULAYE BARAATI."

He further adds, "Everyone's got a defined part. No one's away for too long either and you get equal doses. So you don't feel overcrowded. Nor you miss them for too long. The chemistry is just amazing between each of us. And we have gelled well with all other actors in the film who keep coming in and going in spurts in situations."

Aftab also feels films like BIN BULAYE BARAATI have brought back the trend of masala films and they should be more and more encouraged.

"In a day and age where there is so much bad news everywhere at the end of the day you don't want to think when you step in the theatre. You want to just have fun. You want your money's worth. You want to watch a film which is just for entertainment, take you to another world for 2 hours and forget all your problems, stress. And BIN BULAYE BARAATI gives you exactly that. It's just a hardcore masala film," says Aftab.

Aftab is also thankful to the films like DABANGG, GOLMAAL series, etc which have brought back the importance of entertaining films. "It's an entertaining film period however I don't want categorise any film. This is the ultimate formula for Bollywood masala films which has been selling from ever but it's more in the news today because recently DABANGG and GOLMAAL RETURNS did well," says Aftab on a concluding note.
