In a joint press conference at the Marriot Hotel, Mumbai, Vijay Singh, CEO of Fox Star Studios, and Vishesh Film's Mahesh Bhatt made the formal announcement of the deal. Mukesh Bhatt, Vikram Bhatt, Kunal Deshmukh, Emraan Hashmi, Randeep Hooda, and Jacqueline Fernandes were also present.

The financial details were not disclosed. INFORMER will be the first of the lot, to be directed by Kunal Deshmukh, with Emraan Hashmi, Randeep Hooda, and Prachi Desai in the cast. The second film RAAZ 3 in 3D will be directed by Vikram Bhatt, his next 3 D horror flick fresh on the heels of the success of HAUNTED. This was termed by Mahesh Bhatt as the return of the prodigal son. Vikram had started his career as a director with Vishesh Films and had also helmed the first film of the franchise. LA based technical team of Fox Star's parent company Twentieth Century Fox will provide the high end 3D wherewithal in the making of the film.

The ideation and production of these films will be handled by Vishesh Films, while Fox Star will look after their worldwide distribution and marketing and will also bring to the table whatever technical expertise it has. Vijay Singh said that he had always appreciated the ability of Vishesh Films to develop great film concepts, their practical approach to the business part of film-making in terms of working within realistic and viable budgets, and for the wonderful music of their films that never fails to work. He also asserted that the old methods of film-making and marketing would not work any more and such strategic partnerships would benefit the entire industry.

The deal is in sync with the larger game plan and strategy of Fox Star to establish itself as a leading player in Bollywood's film development, production, marketing, and distribution business through strategic alliances with key production houses that have credible track records. It plans to leverage its theatrical distribution network and Star's satellite TV reach to hedge against the volatility and unpredictability of the business. It will produce about six big, medium, and small budget Bollywood films every year, according to Vijay Singh.
