Arshad Warsi understands that for the entire cast and crew of DOUBLE DHAMAAL, the challenge was to make the sequel far more entertaining than the first in the series. Since director Indra Kumar doesn't make too many films and gave himself a break before making DOUBLE DHAMAAL, the pressure was immense on him to deliver goods.
"Indra Kumar has his own style of filmmaking and audience too is aware of what to expect from him. He has proved his mettle repeatedly in his other films like MASTI, ISHQ, RAJA, BETA and DIL as well, especially when it comes to comic scenes. Though he is a little old, he is quite young at heart when it comes to making entertaining films. DHAMAAL has a genre of its own and this time around it is even more bizarre. It is much bigger than the earlier one. The film is quite safe with very minimum risk factor. We all are quite confident that iss film ne toh chalna hi hai", says Arshad in a confident tone.
When released in 2007, DHAMAAL was a good success as it had the quartet of Arshad Warsi, Riteish Deshmukh, Javed Jaffery and Aashish Chaudhary running away from Sanjay Dutt who played the cop. The role is pretty much reversed in case of the sequel though as this time around the quartet is out there to turn tables on Dutt.
"This time too it's money which is the focal point of all issues," smiles Arshad, "To our horror, we realise that Sanjay is now absolutely loaded and rich. We wonder how come he got so much money in hand and guess what, it turns out it is our own money that he has run away with. Now it's the mission of our life to get back all of that. Having said that let me say again that neither of these characters have turned any smarter in the time gone by. All four of us are in fact far more stupid than what we were before."
