Actor Chandan Roy Sanyal (KAMINEY fame) has opted out of Deepa Mehta's MIDNIGHT'S CHILDREN, because the film which started with a lot of energy faced some delays in shooting and as Chandan had already blocked dates for his other productions & promotions had no choice but to opt out of the film.

Deepa, who seemed to have got quite a fondness for Chandan and his talent, wrote him a letter explaining how unfortunate it is that he has had to opt out of the film due to the delays in shooting and how heartbroken she feels that she will have to cast a new actor in place of him, as she felt that Chandan was the perfect person for the role.

On the other hand, Chandan also is quite sad about the fact that he will be unable to shoot with the brilliant filmmaker but then he has to follow his schedule & cannot break his other commitments.

Chandan who has a lot on his plate will soon be seen in TELL ME OKKHUDA & LOVE YOU TO DEATH with both being released in a gap of 1 month.
