As Prakash Jha's film AARAKSHAN nears its release date, the filmmaker is hopeful that the audiences would get a taste of the reality of our times when they watch the film and would realize the tyranny of the caste system that our country is subjected to.
Like his previous films, AARAKSHAN raises another controversial social issue-the politics of caste based reservations.
Talking about his films and particularly AARAKSHAN, the filmmaker says, "This subject is too close to my heart. When I attempted to join politics, it was with the intention of bringing in a social change. Now, I do that through my films. I am quite connected with the ground realities and that makes my films have an earthy feel to their narratives."
Jha is hopeful that in India of today's time which is moving towards greater accountability, the subject of caste based reservations will unleash a new debate.
