It seems finally Bollywood actor Vivek Oberoi's all the efforts are being paid off.
Vivek Oberoi is being recognized for his charity work towards health, education and disaster relief, by featuring in the prestigious Forbes Asian Heroes of Philanthropy list. Vivek (34) is the youngest individual and the only Bollywood actor acknowledged in the listing as the other three Indians are businessmen.
The list shines the spotlight on some of the Asia-Pacific's high-profile and interesting givers to society. Four philanthropists were picked from each of the 12 markets in the region, making it a total of 48 being celebrated this year. Vivek Oberoi is one of the four Indians to have made it to the list.
Other Indians joining Vivek Oberoi in this illustrious list are Shiv Nadar of HCL Technologies, Azim Premji of Wipro and Grandhi Mallikarjuna Rao of GMR Group. Other Notable global names on the list are of celebrity Jackie Chan and Chinese entrepreneur Cho Tak Wong of automotive glass maker Fuyao Group.
Vivek Oberoi is widely recognized to leverage on his star power to give back through his various foundations and causes. The flamboyant yet humble actor has donated $ 3 million to date and helped raise $ 25 million to support numerous charities dealing with civic and social issues.
