It has not been an easy task for filmmaker Rohan Sippy to come with the remix of the classic song "Dum Maro Dum". Though, including this song in the film was not planned while writing the film, it was added at a later stage when the filmmaker felt that it catches the essence of the script.
But adding this song has not been without its share of stress for the filmmaker. This after the fact that the bar and weightage of item songs has considerably upped post the "Munni" and the "Sheila" phenomenon.
Admitting that the remake of the classic song has bogged him down, Rohan Sippy has chosen to speak his heart out. Says he, "The current gods of the entertainment have been the latest item songs. Munni and Sheila have raised expectations from movie item songs. Plus, the fact that we are adding a song that has been a rage for forty years is not an easy thing to attempt. The kind of expectations it raises and the comparisons it draws bogs you down. But, at the same time I'm happy the way we have made it."
