After delivering huge hits like WELCOME, SINGH IS KINNG and NO ENTRY, Anees Bazmee understands that the onus is on him to deliver out and out massy entertainers. Though he may have faltered in NO PROBLEM, even his earlier relatively smaller attempts like ''DEEWANGEE and PYAAR TO HONA HI THA had hit the bull's eye. Now with his Akshay Kumar, Bobby Deol, Suniel Shetty and Irrfan Khan starrer THANK YOU, he is thinking bigger and has promised to placed enough ingredients in it that would make it a universally accepted film.
"I have always made such films which can gain wider audience. Having said that let me also state that making such films is far more difficult that doing something for a smaller audience", says Bazmee who has earlier written dozens of films for other film makers before turning a director himself with HULCHUL, "It is far easier to please a restricted audience but when you spread boundaries and aim for super-hits, you have to think of masses. This is something I kept in mind during THANK YOU."
Continuing in the same mode, Bazmee reasons, "I have always endeavoured for larger audience. It isn't easy any more as you have to target your film at all kind of audience, now whether they belong to villages, small towns or big cities. Still, despite their massy flavour, each of my film has a lesson and a message in its own subtle way. After seeing THANK YOU, you too would be forced to think that whether the way you live life is the correct way or not."
Also starring Sonam Kapoor, Celina Jaitly and Rimi Sen as the leading ladies with Mallika Sherawat in an item number (Razia) and Vidya Balan in a cameo, THANK YOU has music by Pritam and is a co-production of Ronnie Screwvala and Twinkle Khanna. A solo release, the film arrives all over on 8th April.
