David Dhawan's PARTNER can indeed be called Govinda's comeback vehicle and the films that followed LIFE PARTNER, DO KNOT DISTURB and RAAVAN have set the ball rolling for the class actor.
However despite some superb performances audience (especially the masses) did miss the vintage Govinda of films like RAJA BABU, AANKHEIN, HERO NO. 1 and were looking forward to seeing him again in his much loved straight faced comedy. And Govinda has not disappointed them as in his upcoming film NAUGHTY @ 40 it's vintage Govinda for all to savour.
From the many promos of the film doing the rounds at various entertainment channels one can easily gauge it is Govinda at his best, witty and humorous straight faced one liners, spontaneous acting (that has made him the darling of many).
The film extensively shot in the quaint hill town of Manali (as we had reported straight from the shoot, quite a long time back) boasts of rip-roaring dialogues especially the ones between Govinda and Anupam Kher, who essays the role of his father. In one scene, Govinda keeping a very straight and innocent face says, "Ladki Chahiye" (Meaning I want a girl to marry) and Anupam Kher misunderstands and replies, "Aisi baatein baap se nahin karte" (You don't talk like this to your father) and Govinda replies "Toh kya maa se kahoon?" (Should I tell mom instead?), is simply hilarious. And we are sure that there will be many more to keep the audience rolling down the aisles with laughter.
For all the die-hard fans of Govinda, NAUGHTY @ 40 which was to see March 18th release will now release later, probably in May.
