For Amrita Rao it was like a second homecoming while shooting for Rajshri's latest production venture, LOVE U MR. KALAKAAR!, and she clarifies why it took so long for her to make a comeback in the premier production house Rajshri, even after the stupendous success of VIVAAH. Amrita says that producer-director Sooraj Barjatya did not feel the need to cast any commercial actors/actresses in his last few films but when he required, he immediately offered her the role..
Well, that is a justifiable reason alright but what was it about the role that made Amrita, an over selective actress to sign on the dotted line? And an excited Amrita explains that while her character (Poonam) in VIVAAH was a very docile, introvert and extremely shy girl who could not raise her voice against any injustice, it is diametrically opposite in LOVE YOU MR KALAKAAR. Here, as per Amrita she essays the character of a modern girl Ritu who resides in posh Colaba colony in Mumbai and is extremely confident, very talkative, does not hesitate to speak her mind but still she has her basic Indian values intact and does not rebel but tries to convince elders to understand her point of view. Amrita even goes on to add that her role is very similar to what she is at present in year 2011.
It would indeed be a pleasure to watch the pretty Amrita Rao once again after her heart touching portrayal in VIVAAH.
