SHOR - IN THE CITY has released and it is now known to one and all that much hyped debut of Preeti Desai was actually no more than just a glorified cameo. Besides sharing a couple of frames with Sendhil Ramamurthy and exuding oomph each time around, there was previous little that one saw of Preeti in the film. The young woman is nonchalant though about the whole experience and insists that she had never claimed the film to be her true blue Bollywood debut.
"See, I am new to making movies so when SHOR IN THE CITY came to me, the first thought was 'Wow, I would be doing a film'", says Preeti who has been an established model out there in the UK, "I didn't think beyond that whether I would be making a huge impact or not or if this movie will actually change my life and make me a big movie star. All I did was to concentrate on my scenes and that's about it."
Well, one won't know how many scenes did she eventually shoot for but the fact remains that in the final cut of the film that made it to the theaters, Preeti has a minimal role to play with all the boys (Tusshar Kapoor, Sendhil, Nikhil Dwivedi, Pitobash, Sundeep) ending up hogging limelight.
"Well honestly I didn't even go through the other tracks featuring the rest of the boys", defends Preeti, "I looked at my track with Sendhil and was content with what I read and shot for. It was a tight schedule that lasted only for around two weeks. I didn't even have much time to prepare for my own part; leave aside worrying about how big or small was the part of others in the cast."
