When Aishwarya Rai Bachchan walks the red carpet at Cannes, the world watches. She is unquestionably Bollywood's most influential ambassador at Cannes. At the red carpet as well as during the opening ceremony of the 64th Cannes Film Festival, she represented India and the Indian film industry beautifully.
In fact, she got even greater attention than the Hollywood stars from the large posse of global media and paparazzi. She looked stunning and stood out in the large crowd of world celebrities, in her beautiful shimmering white gown, providing a fairly good glimpse of her persona. Instead of a giggly girl, she came across as a confident woman of substance and a rare beauty. She was shown repeatedly in the video coverage of the opening ceremony, probably more than the other top line actresses from across the globe.
Though in the past it was her husband Abhishek Bachchan who would be seen by her side, sharing her limelight, this year was different. One could see her mother Krishnaraj Rai sitting next to her during the opening ceremony of the festival.
