HAUNTED 3D is another surprise success of the season after F.A.L.T.U and just like Jackky Bhagnani (KAL KISSNE DEKHA), even Mahakshay Chakraborty has made a comeback after a disastrous beginning (JIMMY).
'After being written off, called names and basically booed from the industry, it is a welcome relief to see such a turnaround,' says Mahakshay who can be found in a status of numbness, what with the Vikram Bhatt directed horror thriller performing consistently well at the box office ever since its release.
'I was like a dead man walking,' he recollects, 'I was cold, nearly dead, totally lost and with absolutely no emotions left whatsoever. Nobody wanted to work me and I felt really worthless. Mujhe laga, bas ab toh ho gaya, this is it.'
It took him a couple of years before he gathered himself up and started working with Vikram on HAUNTED 3D.
'I realised that just dance won't take me anywhere,' confesses Mahakshay, 'JIMMY had proven to be a wake up call in that aspect. I was fine with what critics wrote about my acting skills. 90% of what they said was totally correct. I was bad in front of the camera. I knew that to survive in the industry, I had to start emoting to make any impact whatsoever.'
He is obviously ecstatic with the way HAUNTED 3D is currently doing at the box office.
'Thankfully, now with HAUNTED 3D, the response towards me is much-much better. The film's good show has only proven to be an icing on the cake,' smiles Mahakshay before signing off.
