Arjun Rampal may have done just an extended cameo in Ajay Devgan-Sanjay Dutt starrer RASCALS. However, so impressed is director David Dhawan with 'the handsome boy' (as he loves to call him) that he now wants to rope him in for a full fledged comedy next.
"Arjun did RASCALS as a friendly gesture as he is a fan of David Dhawan cinema," informs a source, "His only comedy till date has been HOUSEFULL but there too he played serious and brooding personality. Hence when an out and out comic affair like RASCALS came calling, Arjun immediately said 'yes'. Now as a return gesture, David wants to make a film that would feature Arjun in a lead role. Though formalities are yet to be locked down, David has made up his mind to rope in Arjun."
ARJUN RAMPAL and DAVID DHAWAN
This appreciation comes from the fact that with Arjun's stepping into RASCALS, Dhawan managed to bring in a different dimension to his comedy. While Ajay and Sanju were already on board as the seasoned performers who are known for their comic timing, Arjun's performance took everyone by surprise.
Revealing his future plans for Arjun, Dhawan adds, "Now that I have worked with him, I am sure I want him for a much bigger part in future. I have to plan out something really interesting with him now; I am not going to let go off an opportunity now."
Now if at all this comedy film indeed happens, it would only add on to Arjun's repertoire which is growing with every passing day, what with a rustic dramatic thriller JAI RAMJI, a shocking drama HEROINE, a Sudhir Mishra film around sexual exploitation and the 'baap' of all action flicks, RA. ONE, already in his kitty.
