Young Zoa Morani didn't require much convincing before she decided to choose acting as her career in Bollywood. Daughter of Cineyug founder Karim Morani who has been attached to the entertainment business for decades now, Zoa knew from her very childhood that Bollywood would be her calling.
Laughs Zoa, 'You know my siblings and I actually used to imitate all these actors at home. I must have been five years old when I knew that I had to be an actress. As I started attending school, I was very sure that it would be Bollywood for me. As a first step towards this, I also assisted Farah Khan for Shahrukh's OM SHANTI OM. The next step was of course going to be acting so here I am.'
The fact which cannot be denied though is that when it came to making choices, Zoa had to go through a few rounds of disappointments before ALWAYS KABHI KABHI came calling. For starters, she had been almost finalised for a couple of films but they couldn't happen due to various reasons as a result of which Zoa had to start all over again.
'Before I met (director) Roshan (Abbas), a couple of things were looking good with other makers,' confesses Zoa, 'However my parents were not too happy with the films so I had to look for other options. Of course you do feel disappointed but then you move on as your first film is so very important. Fortunately everyone in my family was fine with ALWAYS KABHI KABHI.'
Now that she is also staring at her debut flick which is not too far away from release, is there anything else already on cards. 'Yes, there are two projects that are looking positively but I guess it would be good if I wait for ALWAYS KABHI KABHI to release before making much noise about them,' Zoa gives out that smile before signing off.
