Many actors go to many extremes to prepare for a role, but some take things to another level and push the size of their bodies to the limit, either gaining weight or losing it, to play a particular part. Ever since Robert De Niro gained 60 pounds to play a washed-up boxing champ Jake LaMotta in the 1980 Hollywood film RAGING BULL, actors all over have been using extreme weight loss and gain to help transform themselves into their on-screen characters. Weight transformation of actors like Tom Hanks in CASTAWAY, Christian Bale in THE MACHINIST and Rene Zellweger in THE BRIDGET JONES series is what makes them actors par excellence.

Closer home, Mr. Perfectionist started the trend by getting ripped for GHAJINI and later slimming down considerably to play an engineering student in 3 IDIOTS. If sources are to be believed there's another entrant to the list of weight transformation, with actor Vivek Oberoi set to shed weight for GYARAH CHALIS KI LAST METRO directed by Sanjay Khanduri and Produced by Amit Chandrra under his banner Invincible Entertainment.

This comes as no surprise since Vivek is known for getting into the skin of the character that he plays, it is a well known fact that he stayed in the slums to prepare for his debut film COMPANY. A source close to Vivek says, "The actor has to lose around 10 kgs for Kandhuri's film."

Vivek in the middle had started pumping iron to play the role of the iconic Satbir Gujjar in ZILLA GHAZIABAD and there was no stopping him despite a back injury that he had during the shoot. Now that 80 % of the film is complete, the actor has already started working on a weight loss spree for the sequel to the hit EK CHALIS KI LAST LOCAL where he has replaced Abhay Deol.

The source adds, "Vivek is playing a young Punjabi Munda from Delhi and the role requires him to be extremely lean." The film would also has intense chase sequences and edge of the seat action for which the actor needs to get rid of the bulk that he put on for ZILLA GHAZIABAD. The process of losing weight has already begun informs the source, "Vivek has a dietician who has been advising him on his diet. As of now, the actor is eating a small meal every two hours."

When contacted, Vivek confirmed the news and said, "I have already lost 4 kilos and have to shed few more kilos. I am watching my diet."
