Early this year, it was Mahakshay Chakravorty's HAUNTED that had broken the bad spell that Bollywood had been going through at the box office. The 3D horror film directed by Vikram Bhatt was a clean hit and now the leading man would be seen in LOOT. However the fact remains that this is one film that he had completed much before HAUNTED. With comic entertainers doing better than ever, LOOT too hopes to make a loot.
Having said that, one wonders how Mahakshay would end up looking in the film since he had started work on this once JIMMY was through. So would audience end up seeing him with the same kind of (long flowing) hairstyle that he had donned in the earlier days?
"Nahin, utne bhi lambe nahi hai," laughs Mahakshay, "I would say it is somewhere in between. But hey, why are you concentrating on just my hair?"
Okay, in that case whom do we see in the film-Mahakshay of HAUNTED who was appreciated for his lean physique or Mimoh of JIMMY who was panned by one and all for his plump body structure?
"Well, let me be honest here. I look better than JIMMY here but not as good as HAUNTED," smiles Mahakshay, "I would appreciate though if audience checks out my performance and shares their feedback around that with me. I have done comedy for the first time in my career and I would want that to be noticed."
Positive about the prospects of the film, Mahakshay adds on a parting note, "LOOT is a masala film where you are required to leave your brains at home. We are not even claiming to have made an 'Avatar' here and it is not going to be an earth shattering experience either. All you need to do is buy your ticket and popcorn and watch the film unfold as a 'paisa vasool' experience. When you would come out of the film, you would say that it was actually a good film with romance, action, thrill and lots of comedy."
Well, we hope audience indeed feel the same when this film with Shweta Bhardwaj as the leading lady releases all over on 4th November.
