ROWDY RATHORE has done the impossible for Sanjay Leela Bhansali. For the first time ever in a career spanning decade and a half, a film of his has managed to garner an all around commercial response for itself. Though there have been money spinners like DEVDAS, HUM DIL DE CHUKE SANAM and BLACK in the past, ROWDY RATHORE is the first ever instance where lovers of hardcore masala films seem to be patronising a film of his across the length and breadth of the country.
"It has been really wonderful working with Akshay so far. He is as sensitive and talented a professional that I could have bargained for. I have not seen a single actor who, when called for 9'o clock shift, would be right there in front of camera at sharp 9'o clock. It is fascinating to see so much punctuality, commitment and discipline from an actor," gushes Bhansali. CHECK OUT: Akshay-Sajid Nadiadwala-Sajid Khan join hands again
What has further impressed Bhansali is the 'producer' mentality that Akshay brings with him while working on a film. "Akshay is a textbook on how to speed up the work, not to waste time and use the money and energy in a right way for the betterment of a scene," he says, "He brings in so much of understanding to really stand by his producer. Now this is something that has really ensured that ROWDY RATHORE moves ahead on a fast track."
