With the Diwali week over, it's now going to be the Eid-ul-Azha week and so it comes as no surprise that there were as many as four releases this Friday, namely LOOT, SHAKAL PE MAT JAA, NA JAANE KABSE and MILEY NAA MILEY HUM.
Unfortunately all of them barring LOOT have been off to poor starts of 5-10 percent. LOOT itself has not exactly set the box-office on fire but has managed collections in the range of 20 percent or so and will be the only film that has some chances during the festive week.
Coming to the Diwali releases, after a humongous 81-82 crore weekend (5-days), the collections of the Shah Rukh Khan starrer, RA.ONE, started falling from Monday and alarmingly from Wednesday. Still the film has netted close to 99-100 crore during the extended week. The dubbed Tamil and Telugu versions have managed another 5-6 crore. The film has also done great business in the overseas. CHECK OUT: RA.ONE scorches the box-office, biggest single & three day!
The other two releases of the week, Himesh Reshammiya's DAMADAMM! and Esha Deol's TELL ME O KKHUDA saw negligible collections except for some single screens of North and Central India. As per early estimations TELL ME O KKHUDA has netted around 1.45 crores and DAMADAMM! 1.30 crore (to be validated, once collections are declared).
While DAMADAMM! and TELL ME O KKHUDA have little or no chances, even a decent second week will make the makers and distributors of RA.ONE happy as a major portion of its investment has already been recovered.
