However, her inclusion comes as a surprise as she seems clueless about the game or any kind of sport. She earnestly says, "To be honest, I don't know much about cricket. I was a science student, so I never got much time to play. I'm here to support my friends who are playing for the team," she says.
However, she is enthusiastic about endorsing the team and says she will cheer for them. "I will dance on Salman's 'Character Dheela Hai' from READY and 'Saadi Gali' from TANU WEDS MANU," she says.
While the Celebrity Cricket League (CCL) had a good run last year, Mumbai Heroes didn't win any matches. The team's captain Suniel Shetty informs, "CCL is now a bigger franchise and will be played at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium, UAE on January 13. Mumbai Heroes is slated to play two games there after the opening ceremony." The brand ambassadors will be present in Sharjah for these matches.
The other teams include Chennai Rhinos lead by South superstar Surya, Karnataka Bulldozers by Kiccha Sudeep and Telugu Warriors under captain Venkatesh leads, with an addition of two new teams - Kerala Strikers co-owned by National Award winner Mohanlal, director Priyadarshan and (his wife) Lizzy, and Bengal Tigers owned by Boney Kapoor and Sridevi.
