Imran Khan-Katrina Kaif starrer MERE BROTHER KI DULHAN is a big success and has ensured that the film's first time writer-director Ali Abbas Zafar is rewarded with another film. This youngster is now all set to work on his next movie for Yash Raj Films and promises that just like his debut effort, even his second outing would be attached to the Indian soil. Moreover, even his producers have been traditionally quite supportive of the newer filmmakers who have their films set in the real India.

"Yes, Chopras were the pioneers when it came to Switzerland journeys but over the last few years they too have been playing the balancing act," says an industry observer, "For every EK THA TIGER and DHOOM 3 that would be cosmopolitan centric, they have given a rooted film like MERE BROTHER KI DULHAN, BAND BAAJA BAARAAT, DIL BOLE HADIPPA or soon-to-be-released LADIES V/S RICKY BAHL that would be a mix of both. Though Ali's next with them is yet to be made public, it is a given that his characters would be enacting real people instead of taking an artificial filmy approach."
When contacted, Ali confirmed that he is in the process of making another film for the prestigious banner. However with strict YRF mandate around non-disclosure of subject or content, Ali was tight lipped around the film's genre. He said, "I don't know whether my next film would be as light as MERE BROTHER KI DULHAN but technically whatever I will make, it would be mainstream and entertaining. For me, films should be made in such a way that people in the smallest of cities should understand them; after all this is where real India exists."
